Port Blair, Aug 29: A Water Treatment Plant (Slow Sand Filter) having a water treating capacity of 2.40 Lakh Ltrs per day constructed in the Mithakhari village by APWD was inaugurated by Secretary (PWD), A&N Administration, Shri. Kishore Kshirsagar Lakshman, IAS much to the delight of the villagers and PRI members gathered in good numbers.

Mayabunder, Aug 29: Working towards its commitment to make the A&N Islands drug-free, N&MA District Police is conducting regular raids. Based on an intelligence input Nirodh Biswas @ Babu, a known dealer of ganja in Diglipur was apprehended red handed with some quantity of ganja while he was selling it to a person. On detailed interrogation a total of 2.1 Kg. ganja was recovered from his hidden store house. A case has been registered under NDPS Act at PS Diglipur.
