Port Blair, March 7: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Vice Chancellor, Pondicherry University to conduct the Degree examinations of B.Tech students of DBRAIT for Civil, Computer Science, Electronics and Communication streams through online mode. The exams are scheduled to be held from 23.03.2021 onwards in line with the Diploma examinations being conducted by the Maharashtra State Board.

Port Blair, March 7: Shri. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman/Secretary (RD/LSG) along with SDM, South Andaman made follow up field visit at Ferrargunj Tehsil and inspected the progress of various projects, for which foundation stones were laid three months back.

Port Blair, March 7: The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman / Chairman, District Health Society (SA), Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS inaugurated the Maternity Home at CHC Bambooflat on 06.03.2021 in presence of Shri Hari Kallikkat, IAS, SDM (SA), Dr. Omkar Singh, Director, DHS and other dignitaries of APWD & Health Department.

While addressing the gathering, DC informed that the Maternity Home is first of its kind in the A & N Islands and constructed through the District Health Society (SA) under National Health Mission to provide staying facility at minimal fee to the poor pregnant women of Inter Islands for better health care delivery services. It was also informed that this initiative has been inspired from Nicobari Birth Homes, the idea of Maternity Home incorporates Traditional Gyan with Post Modern Technologies.

“On the occasion of International Women’s Day, I extend my greetings to all women folk of this Island. It is a day to celebrate the spirit of women, who have played significant roles in shaping their families, communities, society and countries".
