Car Nicobar, March 12: On the occasion of the International Wheelchair Day of Persons with Disabilities, the District Project Office, Car Nicobar organized a Wheelchair based activities and Assessment Camp for Children with Special Needs (CwSN) to enhance confidence and remove social barrier.
The programme began with inspiration words of Shri Swapan Paik District Project Officer, Samagra Shiksha, Nicobar District followed by Special Guest Smt. Sarah In-charge GSS Tamaloo. A total of 12 students participated in the programme, which included awareness on the significance of wheelchair use through Orientation Session: Safe sitting demonstration, how to move a wheelchair with safety and fun activity to promote effective use of wheelchair. Assessment camp of Cerebral Palsy and Loco motor Disability was also conducted.
