Wimberlygunj, Oct. 14: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) – ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC), in collaboration with the Directorate of Education, A&N Administration, celebrated World Space Week 2025 at the Government Senior Secondary School, Wimberlygunj on Oct. 10. The theme for this year’s celebration was ‘Living in Space’.
Shri T. Subramanya Ganesh, Deputy Director, Navigation Systems Area, ISTRAC as the chief guest emphasized sustainable space exploration and future possibilities for human habitation beyond Earth. The event featured a Science Craft Model Exhibition, showcasing innovative models and projects designed by students. Around 250 students and escort teachers from various schools of the Wimberlygunj Zone participated and explored spacecraft and launch vehicle models, Chandrayaan-3 landing visuals, Gaganyaan mission videos, and other recent milestones of ISRO.
Shri B. Sankar Madaswamy presented an overview of the Indian Space Programme, highlighting student opportunities in ISRO and India’s key achievements in space technology. The celebration concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, during which the Class XII science stream toppers of each school from the Wimberlygunj Zone and the winners of the Science Craft Exhibition were felicitated by the chief guest. The event ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Manoharan, DEO, Wimberlygunj.
