Kadamtala Police Crack Theft Case; Accused Arrested with Major Recovery

Kadamtala, Jan 19: On 18 January 2026, Kadamtala Police achieved a significant breakthrough in a theft case registered at Police Station Kadamtala by arresting one accused person.

On 05/01/2026, upon receipt of a complaint regarding theft of gold ornaments, cash, and household articles from the complainant’s residence at Shantanu, Kadamtala, an FIR vide No. 01/26 dated 05/01/2026 was registered at PS Kadamtala and investigation was promptly initiated. A special police team was constituted to investigate the case, comprising SI Shain Nair, SHO PS Kadamtala, SI S. Sudharsanan, HC IRBn/153 D. Bhattachariya, PC/2369 S. Karthy, PC/652 Shankar Ram, PC/2562 V. Abednigo, PC/2650 Praveen Kumar, PC/509 Sudeep Kumar, and Ct/021239 Sanjay Mondal.

The dedicated team pursued the investigation in a professional and systematic manner, leaving no stone unturned. They worked tirelessly, utilizing technical tools and gathering actionable intelligence to trace and apprehend the accused at an early stage. Through sustained interrogation, the involvement of the accused in the offence was established, which led to the recovery of stolen gold ornaments valued at approximately ₹19,56,409/-. Further recovery of ₹46,500/- in cash and one LPG cylinder from concealed locations. The accused has been produced before the Hon’ble Court at Mayabunder and remanded to Judicial Custody.

The investigation is being carried out under the close supervision of the SDPO, Rangat, and under the overall supervision of the Superintendent of Police, North & Middle Andaman District.
