Khadi Sales-cum-Exhibition – 2025 Inaugurated at Udyog Parisar Complex

Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 19: The A&N Islands Khadi & Village Industries Board (ANI KVIB) inaugurated the Khadi Sales-cum-Exhibition – 2025 with grandeur today at the Udyog Parisar Complex, Middle Point, Sri Vijaya Puram. The event was inaugurated in the august presence of Shri Atul Soni, Director of Industries & Member Secretary, KVIB, who graced the occasion as the chief guest.

Shri Atul Soni, Director of Industries underlined the significance of Khadi as a symbol of India’s freedom struggle and its contemporary relevance as a fabric of sustainability, eco-friendliness, and rural empowerment. He emphasized that Khadi is not merely cloth but a movement that connects people with the values of self-reliance and dignity of labor. He appealed to the public, especially the younger generation, to adopt Khadi in their daily lifestyle, thereby supporting local artisans and contributing to the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

The exhibition brings together an exclusive collection of fresh arrivals in Khadi designer wear and fabrics, including ladies’ palazzos, kurtis, sarees, gents’ shirts, Punjabi kurtas, Modi coats, Dhotis and premium Khadi materials. Along with these, a display of local handicrafts made of coconut shell of PMEGP asssisted units has also been made. The showcase highlights the blend of traditional craftsmanship with modern design, making Khadi more appealing to urban and youth consumers.

Large numbers of visitors thronged the exhibition venue on the opening day, exploring the diverse range of garments and accessories. The event has been specially timed to coincide with the festive season, giving islanders the opportunity to purchase high-quality Khadi products while also availing special promotional discounts of flat 25% on Khadi wears.

The A&N Islands KVIB has consistently worked towards creating platforms for artisans and small entrepreneurs to market their products. By organizing such exhibitions, the Board seeks to boost Khadi sales, enhance the livelihoods of rural producers, and spread greater awareness about the importance of indigenous, sustainable industries.

The Khadi Sales-cum-Exhibition – 2025 will remain open to the public in the coming days, and is expected to witness enthusiastic participation from residents across the Islands. It is not just a sales event but also a celebration of India’s timeless legacy of Khadi and Village Industries.
