Landmark Judgment Upholds Justice in POCSO Case: 20 Years Rigorous Imprisonment for Accused Following Diligent Police Investigation

Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 7: The North & Middle Andaman District Police continue to uphold their unwavering commitment to justice, ensuring swift and decisive action against perpetrators of sexual crimes.

In a significant judgment delivered on 07/11/2025, the Hon’ble Special Judge (POCSO), Shri Subhajit Basu, sentenced accused Sanjeeb Das to 20 years of Rigorous Imprisonment with a fine of Rs. 60,000/- in connection with Crime No. 64/2023 registered under the POCSO Act, 2012 at PS Diglipur.

This conviction stands as a testament to the diligent and determined efforts of the investigating team. The investigation of the case was conducted by SI Deepti Minj under the leadership of the then SHO, Inspr. K. Binoj. Their professionalism, dedication, and relentless pursuit of justice played a crucial role in securing these convictions and delivering justice to the victims.
