Mahindra Ushers in New Era of Sustainable Mobility with BE 6e and XEV 9e Launch in Andaman

Sri Vijaya Puram, May 27: Jadwet Mahindra, part of the Jadwet Group of Companies, unveiled Mahindra’s next-generation electric SUVs—the BE 6e and XEV 9e—at Jalsa Event Hall, Dollygunj. Priced from ₹18.90 lakh and ₹21.90 lakh respectively, the launch served as a regional showcase of Mahindra’s ground-breaking EVs, which had earlier garnered an overwhelming nationwide response, with over 30,000 bookings worth ₹8,472 crore recorded on launch day across India. The event, themed “The Future is Electric,” marked a significant milestone in advancing sustainable mobility across the ecologically sensitive Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

The ceremony commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting and felicitation of dignitaries Dr. Jatinder Sohal (DANICS), Director (Transport), A&N Administration and Shri Santosh Sahu, Regional Manager, SBI. Shawls and saplings were presented as symbols of the event’s eco-conscious ethos. Other notable attendees included Mr. M. Vinod (President, AATO), Shri Bhaskar (social worker and politician), Dr. K. Chandrashekhar (President, ANCCI), and Mr. Mohamed Jadwet, Director, Jadwet Group.

Mr. Farhan Jadwet presented an overview of Mahindra’s innovative INGLO Electric Origin Architecture, highlighting its flat-floor design, spacious cabin, and dynamic handling. Equipped with LFP batteries (59 kWh and 79 kWh), the SUVs deliver a range exceeding 500 km and support ultra-fast charging—achieving 20–80% charge in just 20 minutes via a 175 kW DC charger. Safety is further enhanced with ultra-high-strength boron steel and a low centre of gravity.

Feature highlights include a 110-centimetre Cinemascope display in the XEV 9e, a digital cockpit, AR-based heads-up display, Infinity Roof, LightMeUp ambient lighting, and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon system with Dolby Atmos. The LiveYourMood feature—curated by A.R. Rahman—offers three preset themes (Calm, Cozy, and Club) with synchronised seat, light, and climate configurations. Additional innovations such as Level 2+ ADAS with five radars, EyeDentity driver and occupant monitoring, Secure360 in-vehicle surveillance, and Autopark with 12 sensors captivated the audience.

Bookings are now open across all variants, with test drives available. Attractive financing options are being offered by Mahindra Finance and leading banks, with EMIs starting at ₹37,143 for the BE 6e and ₹45,450 for the XEV 9e.

The evening reached its crescendo with the grand unveiling of the two models and the ceremonial handover of symbolic key fobs to the first owners, including renowned dental surgeon Dr. Selvaraj Gandhi. A vibrant flash mob performance led by Mari Jackson and team added to the celebratory atmosphere. Guests interacted with the new EVs before concluding the evening with a dinner reception.

Dr. Gandhi lauded the launch as “a milestone in India’s EV journey.” Mr. Mohamed Jadwet added, “This marks a vital step towards preserving our island environment through responsible innovation.”
