MCPC of Supreme Court of India Launches 90-Day Nationwide Drive ‘Mediation for the Nation 2.0’

Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb. 8: The Mediation & Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC), Supreme Court of India has launched a 90-day nationwide drive titled ‘Mediation for the Nation 2.0’, which commenced from 2nd January, 2026, with the objective of settling pending cases across Taluka Courts, District Courts and High Courts throughout India.

The initiative is aimed at resolving pending cases having elements of settlement and compromise, including matters falling under the following categories, which may be referred to mediation:

1. Matrimonial cases, including cases under the Domestic Violence Act and Section 498A IPC/Section 85 BNS

2. Cheque Dishonour (Cheque Bounce) Cases

3. Motor Accident Claims Cases

4. Compoundable Criminal Cases

5. Land Acquisition Cases

6. Partition Cases

7. Eviction Cases

8. Commercial Disputes

9. Suitable Service Matters

10. Labour Law Cases

11. Contract Act Cases

12. Consumer Cases

13. Other suitable Civil Cases

The general public, litigants and members of the Bar are hereby informed and encouraged to actively participate in this initiative, which offers a speedy, cost-effective and amicable method of dispute resolution, thereby contributing to the larger goal of access to justice for all.
