Medicinal Sapling Plantation Drive Conducted at GB Pant Hospital Under Kayakalp Scheme

Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb. 17: A medicinal sapling plantation drive was conducted at GB Pant Hospital, ANIIMS on Feb. 14, under the Kayakalp Scheme by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, GoI. The plantation activity witnessed enthusiastic participation from patients, hospital staff, and members of community under the Jan Bhagidari initiative, reflecting a collective commitment towards environmental sustainability and patient-centred healthcare.

During the programme, patients and their relatives were educated on hospital belongingness, personal hygiene and sanitation. The initiative reinforced the importance of creating a healing environment that integrates greenery, cleanliness, and community participation.

As part of the Jan Bhagidari initiative under the Kayakalp Scheme, patient waiting chairs were generously donated by Amit Goenka Group to enhance patient comfort and hospital infrastructure. Earlier, the Andaman and Nicobar Chemists and Druggists Association had donated an industrial weighing machine for Biomedical Waste Management.

The hospital management appeals to all socially conscious citizens, community groups, and local organizations to actively participate in such meaningful initiatives under the Kayakalp and Jan Bhagidari programmes. Those interested in contributing to these efforts may contact the Nodal Officer, Kayakalp Ph. No. 9001911992, for further information and coordination.
