Members of IEI A&N State Centre Along with B.Tech Civil Engineering Students Visit CRC Brookshabad

Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 24: On 24th November 2025 The Institution of Engineers (India), Andaman & Nicobar State Centre organised a technical visit to the Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (CRC), located at Brookshabad, Sri Vijaya Puram. Members of IEI, along with students of 2nd year B.Tech Civil Engineering and faculty members from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology actively participated in the visit.

The programme commenced with the felicitation of the guests, followed by a keynote address by Smti. Sumithamol S., Director, CRC. In her address, she elaborated on the vision, mission, and objectives of CRC, highlighting their initiatives towards empowering persons with disabilities through skill development and rehabilitation services.

The Chairperson of IEI, ANSC Er. Usha Stephen, FIE addressed the participants, encouraging students and members to engage in such technical visits to enhance their knowledge and exposure to practical applications in the field. This was followed by an introduction session where all CRC faculty members briefed about their roles, ongoing activities, and the various services offered by the centre.

The visit concluded with a gesture of appreciation, wherein a momento was presented to the Director, CRC by the Chairperson of IEI, ANSC. The technical visit proved to be informative and enriching, offering participants valuable insights into the functioning and contribution of CRC in the domain of disability empowerment and rehabilitation.
