Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 12: In a significant judgment reinforcing the rule of law, Shri Sudhir Kumar, Hon’ble Sessions Judge, Sri Vijaya Puram, on 22/12/2025 delivered a conviction sentence in a heinous murder case. The Hon’ble Court convicted accused A. Venkateshwarlu S/o Late Srinivasalu, R/o Bargat Line, Sri Vijaya Puram for the offence of murder.
As per the prosecution case, accused who was a neighbour of the deceased, approached the victim and his friends while they were playing volleyball at the local church ground. There was an altercation on the ground which resulted in attack on victim with a sharp knife, resulting in fatal injuries.
The incident was promptly reported at Police Station Aberdeen leading to the registration of FIR No. 81/2021 dated 09/07/2021 under Section 307 IPC, which was later altered. The case was meticulously investigated by SI S. Tejeshwar Rao under the supervision of the then SHO Inspector K. Joju.
The prosecution was effectively conducted by Shri Sumit Kumar Karmakar, Public Prosecutor, High Court & Sessions Court, who examined material witnesses and produced cogent evidence before the Court. Upon comprehensive appreciation of the oral and documentary evidence on record, the Hon’ble Court held accused guilty.
Accordingly, the Hon’ble Court pronounced stringent sentences:
– Rigorous Imprisonment for Life under Section 302 IPC along with a fine of Rs. 10,000/- and in default of payment, additional imprisonment of one year.
– Rigorous Imprisonment for three years under Section 201 IPC, along with a fine of Rs.1,000/- and in default of payment, additional imprisonment of one month.
This judgment underscores the commitment of police in securing justice in heinous crimes. It reiterates that acts of grave violence will be met with stringent punishment, serving not only as justice to the victim and their family but also as a strong deterrent to society at large.
