New Delhi, March 25: The Member of Parliament, Shri Bishnu Pada Ray met Shri Kiren Rijiju Hon’ble Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs, Govt. of India in Delhi today to pursue expeditious sanction of 79 project proposals submitted by the A&N UT Administration amounting to ₹144.61 crore under the PM Jan Vikas Karyakram for the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The proposals aim at developmental works in minority-concentrated blocks of Ferrargunj, Rangat, Mayabunder, Car Nicobar, and Nancowry.
Besides this, Hon’ble MP also appraised the Hon’ble Minister to consider for amendment of certain provisions of Salary and Pensions of MP’s Act 1954 sofar concerned to airfare from Port Blair to Delhi for the MP representing A&N Islands in view of remote backward area.
During the meeting, the Hon’ble MP also invited the Hon’ble Minister to visit the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The Hon’ble Minister has kindly consented to visit the islands and assured that the project proposals submitted under PMJVK will be duly considered for financial support.
