
Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 20: The National Book Week-2025 concluded this afternoon with a prize distribution ceremony held in the Conference Hall of the State Library. Shri Vikram Singh, Director (Education), as chief guest of the valedictory function, encouraged students to make use of these dedicated spaces, aimed at fostering creativity and intellectual growth. He also informed the students that Education Department in collaboration with Shankar, IAS Academic, Chennai is planning for online coaching for the UPSC aspirants of this island. He also presented prizes to the winners of various competitions held during the week-long celebration, with Carmel Sr. Sec. School receiving the special trophy for the overall best performing school of the year.
Shri Gyan Sheel Dubey, DDE (HoO/Acad.), Dr Dheeraj Kumar, DDE (Perl), as well as other officials from the Directorate of Education were also present on the occasion. In her welcome address, Smt. Archana Singh, Nodal Officer, State Library congratulated all participants and winners of the drawing and elocution competitions conducted at the State Library, SVP. She commended their enthusiasm and encouraged them to continue developing their talents through reading and creative activities.
During the ceremony, a Special Art and Craft Centre and Chess Room for children was inaugurated by the chief guest in the ground floor of State Library.
Over 1,700 students from Wimberlygunj Zone and Sri Vijaya Puram visited the library during National Book Week-2025, marking impressive participation and engagement among young readers. The function concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shri Anbarasan, In-Charge of the State Library.
