
Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 20: The National Commission for Women (NCW), New Delhi in collaboration with Tagore Government College of Education (TGCE) conducted the ‘Yashoda AI’ Awareness Programme in the auditorium of TGCE today. It is an initiative dedicated to making artificial intelligence education accessible, inclusive and safe for women.
Smt. Vijaya Rahatkar, Chairperson, NCW, New Delhi and Dr. Archana Majumdar, Member, NCW, addressed students & teachers on AI literacy, online safety, and responsible digital behaviour. YASHODA AI is a pioneering national campaign launched by the National Commission for Women (NCW) in partnership with Future Shift Labs. The initiative is dedicated to making Artificial Intelligence education accessible, inclusive, and safe for women and disadvantaged groups across India. By bridging the digital divide, YASHODA AI promotes responsible technology use, digital safety, and ethical AI literacy, enabling women to participate confidently and meaningfully in a rapidly evolving tech-driven world. Since its launch, the campaign has reached 19 districts across 10 states, equipping over 3,000+ women with practical knowledge of AI, its everyday applications, and safeguards against emerging digital threats. As India’s first large-scale gender-tech literacy model, YASHODA AI is not just teaching technology but it is building resilience, fostering equality, and preparing women to lead in the Al-powered future.
A high-impact technical session by cybersecurity specialist, Shri. Shubham Singh offered practical insights into emerging cyber threats. With strong participation from over 200 trainees, the programme underscored NCW’s commitment to digital empowerment and safe technology practices among future educators.
The program’s goals are to enhance digital inclusion, empower women with skills for safe online practices, and align with the vision of women-led development.
