National De-worming Day Observed in All Schools Across the UT

Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb. 11: National De-worming Day was observed in all the schools including Private Schools and Anganwadi Centers across the Union Territory today. To mark the event, a State Level program was organized by the Directorate of Health Services in association with UT Health Mission and in close coordination with Directorate of Social Welfare and Directorate of Education today in the Conference Hall of Govt. Girls Senior Secondary School with the aim to cover children between the age of 01 to 19 years through schools and Anganwadi Centers as a fixed day approach.

Shri. Ravinder Kumar, Director, Social Welfare as chief guest emphasized on collaborative effort to be taken between Education and Health Department for successful implementation of De-Worming program while Smt. Archana Singh, Principal, Govt. Girls Senior Secondary School as guest of honour expressed her views on importance of this day. Children were administered Albendazole tablet by the guests to mark the start of the program.
