Car Nicobar, Nov. 11: On 10/11/2025, a Special Excise Raid/Jungle was carried out by the beat police team led by SI J Rama Krishna, I/c PS Car Nicobar at Perka Village, Car Nicobar. The operation was conducted with precision and thoroughness to combat illicit activities related to liquor.
During the raid, a significant quantity of 5027 liters of Lahan (fermented wash) was recovered from various concealed locations within a coconut garden belonging to the accused. The recovered lahan was destroyed on the spot under videography and photography coverage through the E- Shakshya app and 4.5 litres illicit liquor and a distillation apparatus (Bhatti items) were seized with photographic evidence. Subsequently, in accordance with the Excise Regulation, a case has been registered against the apprehended accused persons under the relevant section of Reg. III of 1876. This successful operation reflects the diligent efforts and zero tolerance towards illicit liquor by Nicobar District Police to curtail the illegal distillation of illicit liquor.
The entire search operation was conducted under the supervision of Shri. Samuel Solomon, DANIPS, SDPO Car Nicobar and under overall supervision and direction of SP (D) Nicobar Shri. Rahul L Nair, IPS.
