
Mayabudner, Aug. 28: As part of the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, the District TB Centre, Dr. R.P. Hospital, Mayabunder organized a Nikshay Shivir at Ayushman Arogya Mandir, Karmatang today, focusing on the vulnerable population of the remote area. During the event, screening of the participants was done by Dr. Christina Rossity, DTO, North & Middle Andaman and her medical team.
Awareness on Tuberculosis was imparted by NTEP health officials, highlighting the importance of early detection, timely treatment and preventive measures. A total of 54 vulnerable individuals were screened, out of which, 50 were asymptomatic and 4 were symptomatic. Subsequently, all 46 individuals were mobilized from Karmatang to Dr. R.P. Hospital, Mayabunder through the STS bus facility for further diagnostic evaluation, including X-ray and sputum examination. The ‘Nikshay Shivir’ under ‘TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ was successfully conducted, ensuring active case finding, enhancing awareness, and reinforcing the collective efforts towards building a TB-free India.
