Wimberlygunj, July 28: The Directorate of Education and Sports and the Deputy Education Office, Wimberlygunj successfully organized the ‘North Bay Road Marathon-2.0’ Marathon yesterday. The event was open to all, featuring a 10 km run for men and school boys, a 5 km run for women, and girl students of Wimberlygunj Educational Zone, starting and ending at Chunna Bhatta (Ram Mandir) – North Bay – Chunna Bhatta.
The Director (Education/Sports), Shri Vikram Singh as the chief guest and Assistant Commissioner, Swaraj Dweep, Shri Sushant Padha as guest of honour felicitated the winners in the men’s category with cash awards. Over 400 participants enthusiastically took part in the event.
The Director (Education/Sports) in his valedictory address, urged the younger generation to embrace sports to lead a healthy lifestyle and stay away from drug abuse.
Smti Rasheeda, Pradhan, GP Hopetown and Ms. Mariyam Bibi, ZP Member presented cash prizes to the winners in the women’s category.
Shri Devlin Dutta, Chief Manager, Canara Bank, gave away cash prizes to the winners in the boys and girls category of Wimberlygunj Educational Zone.
