
Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 20 (PIB): NTPC organised a state level painting competition on ‘Energy Conservation’ on behalf of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency under the Ministry of Power, Government of India. The painting competition is aligned with the Mission LiFE which aims to promote sustainable living practices, particularly responsible consumption. The competition is an exemplary effort to provide a platform to the students to showcase their creativity while making them aware about Energy Conservation.
The painting competition on energy conservation was first conducted at the school level for Class V, VI & VII in Group-A and Class VIII,IX & X in Group-B. Approx. 328 schools and over 3000+ students across A&N Islands competed for the school level competition, out of which 50 students from each Group were invited for State level Painting Competition held today at Marine Community Hall, Mohanpura.
Shri Vikarm Singh, Director, Education as the chief guest alongwith Smti Rizwana, Executive Engineer (Electricity Department) & Shri Dharmendra Kumar, Nodal Officer/ Additional General Manager (NTPC) awarded the winners of the Competition.
Winners in the Group A categories are – First prize winner P Samreen Siddique (Carmel Senior Secondary School), Second Prize: Kyna Haldar (Navy Children School) and Third Prize: Vinaya Krishnan (R G T Public Vidyalaya)
Winners in the Group B categories are – First prize winner: Trisha Mondal (Vivekananda Kendra Zilla Parishad Vidyalaya), Second Prize: Sherin Sanju (St Marys School) and Third Prize Anushree Das (Govt Girls Sr Sec School).
The winners of 1st, 2nd and 3rd position of both the categories were given the prize of Rs. 50,000/-, Rs. 30,000/- & Rs 20,000/- respectively and Consolation prizes of Rs. 7,500/- each were also distributed to 20 participants of this event. 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners of State Level Painting Competition will be invited to Delhi to participate in “National Level Painting Competition” to be held on 2nd week of December 2025.
