One-Month Wooden Handicraft Training Gets Underway at Hut Bay

Hut Bay, Feb. 14: A one-month Wooden Handicraft Training Programme got underway today at the Extension Office, Hut Bay, Little Andaman. The programme is being organized by the Community Development Block, Little Andaman in collaboration with the Industries Department under the aegis of DAY-NRLM, with the objective of promoting skill development and sustainable livelihood opportunities among Self Help Group (SHG) members. Dr. K. Mohammed, Senior Veterinary Officer, Hut Bay, graced the occasion as the chief guest, while Shri Janak Rao, IPO, Hut Bay, attended as the guest of honour.

Addressing the gathering, the chief guest and the guest of honour emphasized the importance of skill development initiatives in empowering SHG members and strengthening their economic independence. A total of 30 selected participants have been enrolled in the training programme.
