
Mayabunder, Feb. 20: An out-reach health camp was conducted at Borong Village Feb. 18 by a dedicated medical team from Dr. R.P. Hospital, Mayabunder, under the supervision of the Medical Officer In-Charge. The camp was conducted by a team comprising of Dr. Arnold Ashu, Specialist (Anaesthetist), Dr. Shallini Jeevan, Medical Officer (Dental) & Paramedical staff.
During the camp, comprehensive medical services were provided to the villagers, including: General health check-ups, Blood pressure measurement, Blood sugar testing, Basic physical examinations, General and dental check-ups with basic on-the-spot treatment.
Nutritional counselling was provided, and awareness sessions were conducted on HIV/AIDS, hygiene, sanitation, communicable and non-communicable diseases, and the importance of regular health check-ups. A healthy yoga session was demonstrated for all age groups to promote overall well-being.
The Malaria Unit also played a vital role in mosquito control activities in and around the village to support disease prevention. Free medicines were distributed to beneficiaries as per doctors’ prescriptions. Patients requiring further investigations or specialized treatment were referred to higher health facilities for advanced care.
