
Sri Vijaya Puram, March 17: The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, released the 22nd instalment (December 2025 – March 2026) of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme from the Jyoti-Bishnu International Cultural Centre, Khanapara, Guwahati, Assam. The PM-KISAN Scheme is a Central Sector Scheme introduced during February 2019 to support landholding farmers across the country in meeting their financial needs. Under this initiative, farmers receive direct benefit transfers of Rs. 6000/- per year, in three equal instalments of Rs. 2000/- per Quarter directly into their bank accounts linked with their Aadhaar numbers.
The Department of Agriculture successfully organized a programme at all Blocks and various Gram Panchayats on 13th March, 2026 to witness the live telecast of the release of the 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Scheme by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India.
More than 2481 participants (farmers, PRI members, KVK officials and Departmental officials) attended the live sessions through the webcast across the Islands.
During the 22nd installment release, Rs. 2.64 crore was released benefitting 12,993 eligible farmers of these Islands. So far, since the launch of the PM-KISAN Scheme, Rs. 62.013 crores have been released to the farmers of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
