Private Schools of A&N Islands Asked to Adhere to Rules Under Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education

Sri Vijaya Puram, April 1: The Private Schools of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, are to strictly adhere with Rule 12 (1) ( C) of Chapter IV, under The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (Amendment) Act, 2012 , wherein it has been mentioned to admit in class 1 to class VIII, to the extent of at least twenty-five percent of the strength of that class, children belonging to weaker section and disadvantaged group in the neighborhood and provide free and compulsory elementary education till its completion and  provided further that where a school specified in clause (n) of section 2 imparts pre-school education, the provisions  of clause (a) to (c) shall apply for admission to such pre-school education.

The parents of eligible students belonging to weaker section and disadvantaged group shall approach the Zonal Officers of their respective zones and obtain the Admission Form, which shall be available from April 6. The duly filled application form along with all relevant documents may be submitted to the Zonal Officers latest by April 10.
