Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 2: As part of the observance of “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas”, marking the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a programme of patriotic songs, focusing on national unity and integrity was organized at the District Jail, Prothrapur by the Department of Art and Culture, A&N Administration on Oct 31. The event was organized with an aim to foster the spirit of unity, patriotism, and harmony among the 200 inmates and staff of the District Jail.
Shri Ashish Joon, Superintendent, District Prison, Prothrapur, Dr. Rekha Verma, Chief Medical Officer, Jail Hospital, officials & staff of Art & Culture Deptt. and District Jail also attended the programme.
The performances of MJ Music Academy, Sri Vijaya Puram highlighting India’s cultural diversity and unity were well appreciated by the audience. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Shri Vinod Kumar, Jailor (i/c).
The Art & Culture Department also organized an on-the-spot quiz programme amongst the visitors of the Cellular Jail as part of ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ on Oct 31, 2025 which was participated by a good number of tourists. As prizes, three winners were given books related to Cellular Jail on the occasion.
