Sri Vijaya Puram, June 6: Through stringent and meticulous efforts, the Pahargaon Police had cracked a case of daylight burglary at Birdline area and successfully recovered the stolen property and arrested the accused within 48 hours.
On 03/06/2025, a complaint was received from Shri Nazrul Mandal R/o Birdline stating that his house was burglarized while he and his wife were at work. Then, they discovered their house ransacked and reported the theft of Rs. 80,000 in cash and one domestic gas cylinder.
Based on the complaint, a case was promptly registered at Police Station Pahargaon and a dedicated team was constituted comprising of SI Rangaswamy, HC Limbu, PC Shiv and Rahul Kumar Maurya under the supervision of Inspector Mohd. Elias, SHO, PS Pahargaon. The team conducted CCTV analysis in and around the vicinity of the place of occurrence and simultaneously developed local intelligence. The team tracked a suspicious individual seen arriving via auto-rickshaw, proceeding towards the victim’s residence and leaving with a gas cylinder. Further, immediate ground-level search operations, supported by technical surveillance and informers, led to the successful identification and location of the accused.
During sustained interrogation of accused Hafizul Mandal S/o Shri Hakim Mandal (33) yrs R/o Bathu Basti permanent resident of West Bengal confessed to the crime and disclosed the location of the stolen items. All the stolen property were recovered and accused was arrested after observing all codal formalities.
The entire raid took place under the guidance of Insp. Mohd Elias, SHO PS Pahargaon under the supervision of Shri. Vikas Swami, IPS, SDPO South Andaman and overall direction & supervision of Shri Manoj Kumar Meena, IPS, Sr. Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
