PTS Conducts Training Programme on ‘New Criminal Laws, 2023 (Master Trainer Course)’

Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 10: The Police Training School, Prothrapur hosted a three-day Training Programme titled ‘New Criminal Laws, 2023 (Master Trainer Course)’ from 8th to 10th September, 2025. The programme was organized by the Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR&D), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, in collaboration with Ernst & Young LLP and the Police Training School, Andaman & Nicobar Islands Police.

A total of 27 Police Officers from various districts participated in this Training of Trainers (ToT) programme. The primary objective was to provide an in-depth understanding of the newly enacted criminal laws — Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), 2023.

The valedictory session was attended by Shri. Uma Shankar, Principal, PTS and Ms. Iti Ravra, Senior Consultant, Ernst & Young LLP, BPR&D (PMA), New Delhi along with other senior officials and faculties, who highlighted the crucial role of trained officers in disseminating the knowledge across the force for seamless and effective implementation of the new criminal laws, which came into effect from 1st July, 2024.
