Saikat Biswas Conferred Adventure Tourism Leadership Award by J&K Chief Minister

Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 26: Shri. Saikat Biswas, a renowned name in the tourism sector of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and the Co-Chairman of Eastern Region of Adventure Tour Operators Association of India, has been conferred with the Adventure Tourism Leadership Award at the convention of the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI), held from 17 to 20 December in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir.

The prestigious award was presented by Shri. Umar Abdullah, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, in the august presence of Shri. Suman Billa, IAS, Director General, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, and Shri. Ajeet Bajaj, Padma Shri awardee and President, ATOAI.

An Indian Air Force veteran, Shri. Saikat Biswas is a leading adventure tourism operator from the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and has played a pivotal role in promoting the islands as a global adventure tourism destination. Through his sustained efforts, he has represented the Andaman & Nicobar Islands at national and international platforms, highlighting the region’s vast potential for responsible and sustainable adventure tourism.

Shri. Biswas operates a diverse portfolio of adventure water sports and marine tourism experiences, including game fishing, parasailing, and semi-submarine boat operations, setting high benchmarks for safety, innovation, and guest experience.

He also serves as the Joint Secretary of the Andaman Association of Tour Operators, where he actively contributes to industry development, stakeholder coordination, and the promotion of sustainable tourism practices across the islands.

The Adventure Tourism Leadership Award stands as a testament to Shri. Saikat Biswas’s leadership, vision, and enduring contribution to the growth of adventure tourism in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, reinforcing the region’s position on India’s adventure tourism map.
