Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 26: The passenger vessel Sindhu embarked on its voyage to Barren Island, marking a significant milestone in promoting adventure and eco-tourism in the Islands. The initiative, launched under the aegis of the A&N Administration, drew enthusiastic participation from public and students.
The vessel set sail from Haddo Wharf at 2100 hrs. on 24th October, 2025 towards Barren Island. In the early hours of the next day, at around 0300 hrs., passengers were treated to a breathtaking sight as the Island’s active volcano came into view with red glow on its crest. As dawn broke, the ship circled the island, offering all on board a stunning panorama of volcanic splendour and a golden sunrise over the sea. After this unforgettable encounter with nature’s raw beauty, Sindhu began her return voyage at 0800 hrs and reached Sri Vijaya Puram by 1430 hrs. on the 25th October, 2025, marking the end of an extraordinary and historic voyage.
