
Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 3: To commemorate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a Sports and Exposure Visit for Children with Special Needs (CWSN) was organized today under Inclusive Education, Samagra Shiksha, BPO – South Andaman (SS-2025) at Chidiyatapu Zoo and Beach.
Shri Ram Pravesh graced the occasion as the chief guest, flagged off the programme. Children with special needs from various schools across the South Andaman zone participated enthusiastically, accompanied by their parents and supporting staff.
A total of 186 CWSN, 110 parents, and 38 supporting staff took part in the visit. At Chidiyatapu Zoo, the students explored a variety of animals and learned about wildlife and conservation.
Smti Meera Nambiar, Deputy Director, Biological Park, Chidiyatapu Zoo received the group and also interacted with the students and parents, explaining various aspects of animal care and the zoo’s functioning. The participants later proceeded to Chidiyatapu Beach, where the children enjoyed fun games, recreational activities, and a delicious lunch in the scenic beach environment.
The programme, conducted under Inclusive Education of Samagra Shiksha, successfully promoted inclusion, learning, exposure, and joyful engagement for CwSN, making the observance of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities meaningful and memorable.
