Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb. 16: In the memory of Raman effect discovered by Sir C V Raman, National Science Day celebrations are organized throughout the country on 28th February every year to inculcate and foster the knowledge and awareness of science among the masses. To celebrate this occasion in a most befitting manner, various activities of science popularization are proposed to be conducted for the school students. The Science Week shall commence from 22nd February, 2026 onwards which will be followed by National Science Day on 28th February, 2026.
To celebrate this occasion in a most befitting manner, the Science Centre Sri Vijaya Puram shall be organizing the following competitions as below:
1. 22/02/26 Sunday: Painting Competition for Jr. Group & Sr. Group (Open to all). Theme “Science & Technology for Sustainable Future”. Jr. Group – Class I to V & Sr. Group Class VI to VIII
Venue – Science Centre
Time: 10.00 am to 12.30 pm: Interested students may registered their name through WhatsApp No. 9476095554 (Sudhir) on or before 21.02.2026.
Participation students may be advised to report Science Centre on 22.02.2026 (Sunday) alongwith painting material except chart paper by 10.00 am positively.
2. 24/02/26 Tuesday: Show Your Talent. Primary Level (Class I to V) Online Mode
Prepare a self-video showcasing special talent in the field of playing musical instrument, poetry, mimicry or any unique talent for maximum two minutes duration.
Interested students participating in the Show Your Talent & Story Telling Competition may upload the self-made videos through given WhatsApp No: 9933207860 alongwith mandatory details such as Name, Class, School & phone number latest by 2.30 pm on or before 24.02.2026.
3. 24/02/26 Tuesday: A Story Telling Competition. Topic – “Life history of Sir C V Raman”. Primary Level (Class I to V) Online Mode
Prepare a self-video narrating the topic for maximum two minutes duration.
4. 25/02/26 Wednesday: Extempore Speech Competition. Topic – “Importance of National Science Day”. Class VI to VIII (Online Mode)
Prepare a self-video narrating the topic for maximum two minutes duration. Interested students may be advised to upload the self-made video through given WhatsApp No: 9434296963 alongwith mandatory details such as Name, Class, School & phone number latest by 2.30 pm on or before 25.02.2026
The students interested in participating in the painting competition are advised to follow the given schedule & time positively. Whereas students participating in the Online competition are advised to upload the good quality self-made video with mandatory details as stated above.
