
Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 19: Shri Kamaleshwar Rao, IAS, Sub-Divisional Officer/Sub-Divisional Magistrate (South Andaman), conducted an extensive visit to Swaraj Dweep today with a view to addressing local issues and strengthening public service delivery mechanisms.
As part of the visit, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, South Andaman presided over a Revenue Camp Court organized at Shyamnagar Panchayat Hall. The camp facilitated redressal of pending revenue-related matters of the general public, providing them with a convenient platform at their doorstep to resolve issues pertaining to land, records and allied services. A large number of residents availed the opportunity and expressed appreciation for the outreach initiative.
In continuation, the SDO held an interactive session with the elected representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) from Govinda Nagar and Shyamnagar Panchayats. During the deliberations, he took note of the imminent developmental issues flagged by the PRI members and assured that suitable steps will be initiated in coordination with the concerned line departments for their resolution. The interaction underlines the District Administration’s commitment to participatory governance and grassroots-level engagement.
Further, Shri Rao visited the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Swaraj Dweep, where he reviewed the existing facilities, availability of medicines, manpower position and other patient-care aspects. He interacted with the staff on duty and emphasized the need to ensure prompt and effective healthcare services to the Island populace.
The visit of the SDO South Andaman reflects the Administration’s continued efforts to decentralize service delivery, strengthen coordination with PRIs and ensure that the concerns of remote Island communities are addressed in a timely and effective manner.
