Social Welfare Department Conducts Men-Streaming Activities and First 1000 days of Pregnancy Initiatives Under POSHAN 2.0

Sri Vijaya Puram, March 22: The Office of the Child Development Project Officer, ICDS Project Ferrargunj, has been conducting activities on Men-Streaming Activities and the first 1000 days of pregnancy initiatives under POSHAN 2.0 under the Directorate of Social Welfare. The events conducted at Anganwadi Centres, with a special focus on enhancing fathers’ involvement in child care and nutrition, and promoting awareness about the critical importance of the first 1000 days for maternal and child health. During the programme, various activities such as ‘Annaprasan Ceremony’ led by Fathers, Buddy Father initiative, ‘Papa Ki Rasaoi’ (father kitchen initiative), DIY (Do-It Yourself) competition for father, nutrition relay race for father, godhbharai, complementary feeding (6–24 Months), etc.

These initiatives aim to strengthen community participation and improve nutritional outcomes for mothers and children. The report also documents field-level outcomes and best practices observed during the implementation of the programme.
