Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls Gets Underway in A&N Islands

Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 2: The process of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls is presently underway across all districts of the Union Territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The exercise aims to ensure afresh preparation of Electoral Rolls through enumeration.

During the Enumeration Period:

-Booth Level Officers will visit house-to-house and distribute pre-printed Enumeration Forms in duplicate.

-Electors are requested to fill in the required details, sign the forms, paste a recent colour passport-size photograph in the specified column.

-BLOs will assist the electors for completing the enumeration process.

-BLOs will revisit households to collect the filled forms.

-No document is to be collected from electors during the Enumeration Phase.

In this regard, the Chief Electoral Officer, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. L Kumar, IAS has appealed to all electors to extend their full cooperation to the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) during the House-to-House Enumeration to be carried out from 04th November to 04th December, 2025.

This exercise aims to ensure that the Electoral Roll remains accurate, up to date, and free from errors, in line with the motto of the Election Commission of India: “No Eligible Voter to be Left Out, and No Ineligible person is Included in the Electoral Roll”.
