Sports Department Organises Cycling Tour Aimed to Promote Eco-Tourism, Fitness and Sustainable Living

Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 9: As part of the on-going series of events, the Department of Sports & Youth Affairs, A&N Administration & Education Department in collaboration with the Department of Information, Publicity & Tourism organized a Cycling Tour today on the theme #Explore. Experience. Enjoy.

The event aims to promote eco-tourism, fitness, and sustainable living under the Fit India Movement and Clean & Green Islands Campaign. The Assistant Commissioner, Settlement, Ms. Tripti Kalhans, IAS(P) flagged of the Cycling Tour from the precincts of National Memorial Cellular Jail as the chief guest and encouraged the participants describing cycling as one of the simplest yet most effective means of promoting fitness and sustainability.

Good number of people including students, Youth & Cycling enthusiasts participated in the Cycling Tour and paddled through the vantage points of the town promoting fitness. The Cycling tour which started from National Memorial Cellular Jail, covered key city landmarks such as Water Sports Complex, Dignabad Fish Market, Marine Dockyard, Megapode Chowk, PS Chatham, and returned to Netaji Stadium.
