Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 7: The State-level Teachers’ Day celebration was organized on 5th September, 2025 at the Auditorium of Tagore Government College of Education with great enthusiasm and reverence for the teaching fraternity. The Commissioner-cum-Secretary, A&N Administration, Dr. Sachin Shinde, IAS, graced the occasion as the chief guest. The Secretary (Education), Shri L. Kumar, IAS, and Director (Education), Shri Vikram Singh were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, the chief guest congratulated the award-winning teachers as well as the sports achievers. He urged teachers to continue working with dedication to further enhance the quality of education in government schools. He underlined the high expectations that society places on teachers and lauded their invaluable contribution in shaping the future of the younger generation. He urged teachers to constantly upgrade and update their skills so as to guide their students effectively in today’s evolving world. The chief guest also distributed prizes to the winners of various sports events organized to mark Teachers’ Day.
Teachers of the Education Department presented a vibrant cultural programme which created an uplifting atmosphere in the auditorium. As part of the celebration, around 45 teachers were felicitated for producing 100% quality results.
Earlier, welcoming the chief guest and others present on the occasion, Principal, SIE & DIET, Smt. Sangeeta Chand congratulated the awardee teachers and called upon the fraternity to work with renewed dedication towards providing quality education to the students of these Islands.
The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Smt. Archana Singh, Deputy Director (Planning).
