Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 21: The Directorate of Shipping Services (DSS), Andaman and Nicobar Administration, has invited tourists and islanders to usher in New Year 2026 amidst the open seas with a spectacular overnight New Year voyage aboard MV Swaraj Dweep to Barren Island, the only active volcano in the Indian sub-continent.
Scheduled to sail on the night of Dec. 31, 2025, this exclusive New Year sea voyage promises breathtaking ocean vistas, a rare close-up view of Barren Island, and an unforgettable countdown to the New Year under the stars. With a capacity of 1,200 passengers, the cruise has already witnessed overwhelming public response, with tickets selling fast.
The vessel will depart from Haddo Wharf, Sri Vijaya Puram, at 9 pm on December 31, and is scheduled to return by 2 pm on January 1, 2026, offering passengers a perfect blend of adventure, celebration, and natural grandeur.
