
Sri Vijaya Puram, April 7: In its ongoing efforts to safeguard public property and ensure the lawful use of community spaces, the District Administration of South Andaman has intensified monitoring of government land, reclaiming areas encroached upon by unauthorized elements across the district.
Today, an eviction drive was conducted at Garacharama Village, where Revenue officials, with the assistance of an excavator, removed encroachments including three fencing and two temporary structures erected on government land at Attam Pahar village. An area measuring approximately 1,000 Square Meter of Government Revenue Land has been restored to its original shape by the District Revenue authorities.
In addition, illegal occupation was addressed at South Point Village, where an unauthorized tin fencing adjacent to Hotel Sinclair Bay View was dismantled. An area of around 600 square meters of government land was successfully reclaimed during the operation.
Residents are strongly urged to refrain from unauthorized occupations, as stringent legal action will be taken against violators. To strengthen public participation in this initiative, the District Administration, South Andaman has provided multiple avenues for reporting encroachments or illegal constructions.
