Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 10: The Directorate of Information, Publicity & Tourism today organised a symbolic earthen-diya lighting ceremony at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose (NSCB) Island to mark a historic milestone, the official inscription of Deepavali into UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Earthen diyas were lit across the Island’s heritage monuments, creating a serene and radiant ambience. The illumination not only commemorated the global recognition of Deepavali but also underscored the festival’s enduring message of social harmony and the eternal triumph of light over darkness.
