Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug. 21: As part of the ongoing National Sports Day-2025 celebrations commemorating the birth anniversary of Hockey Wizard Major Dhyan Chand, the Department of Sports & Youth Affairs in collaboration with the Department of Education conducted Table Tennis, Badminton and Volleyball Tournaments.
In Badminton Men’s Doubles final, Shri. D.Thirumurugan & Shri. G.Sandeep defeated Shri. Shyam M.Lall & Shri. Surajit Dutta by 21-14, 21-19. Similarly, in the Women’s Doubles final, Ms. A.Anitha & Ms. A.Rachel defeated Ms. Priyanka & Ms. S.Mamta by 21-08, 21-13.
In Table Tennis (Men’s Doubles) final, Shri. P.Surya Kumar & Shri. Tabriaz Hussain defeated Shri. B.Deepak & Shri. Rahul Rehman by 14-12, 11-13 & 11-10. Similarly, in the Women’s Doubles final, Ms. Jessi & Ms. Venkat Laxmi defeated Ms. Sharin Lakra & Ms. Reshmi Rehna by 13-11, 02-11, 08-11, 11-09 & 11-05.
In the Volleyball (Open Men’s) Tournament, 10 teams are participating while in Open Women’s, 5 teams are participating. The winners and runner ups of the ongoing tournaments will be awarded with trophies during the valedictory function at Netaji Stadium, Sri Vijaya Puram on 29th August, 2025.
All discipline-wise participants have been requested to be present on time and showcase their sporting talent.
