Car Nicobar, Oct. 28: As part of the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan 2025 for Nicobar District, under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP), several TB Clinics were organized across the district on Oct. 24. A TB Clinic was conducted at BJR Hospital, Car Nicobar, along with AAM Mus, AAM Big Lapathy, Sub Centre Small Lapathy, Sub Centre Tapoiming/Chuckchucha. During the clinic, all TB patients were examined by the Doctors for weight, treatment adherence, and side effects, and were advised to maintain a protein-rich diet and good personal hygiene. All patients were found to be taking their medicines regularly and showing satisfactory progress.
Similar TB Clinics were also held at PHC Teressa, PHC Katchal, and CHC Nancowrie. At PHC Teressa, the Medical Officer interacted with TB patients and reviewed their treatment progress, weight, and general health condition. At PHC Katchal, the Medical Officer examined patients for treatment adherence, weight, and side effects, and provided counseling on maintaining a balanced diet and healthy hygiene practices. At CHC Nancowrie, the Medical Officer examined all TB patients for adverse drug reactions and overall health status, emphasizing the importance of a nutritious diet, clean environment, and personal hygiene for faster recovery.
At PHC Campbell Bay, a TB Clinic was conducted by the Medical Officer. All TB patients were examined for weight, adherence, and side effects, and were counseled to follow a healthy diet, maintain proper hygiene, and strictly adhere to their treatment schedule. All patients were found to be compliant with their medication and responding well to treatment.
These coordinated TB Clinics reflect the strong commitment of the District Administration, Nicobar, towards achieving the goal of a TB-Free Nicobar District under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan 2025, through regular patient follow-up, effective counseling, and continuous awareness activities conducted under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP).
