Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 1: The Chairman of Campaign Committee, ANTCC Shri. TSG Bhasker has formally submitted a memorandum to the Chief Secretary of the Andaman & Nicobar Administration, urging immediate Administrative action on several serious issues affecting residents of the Kadamtala and Uttara Panchayats.
In the letter, Bhasker highlighted the prolonged power crisis due to non-functioning DG set in the Kadamtala region, which has left residents struggling with frequent power outages. He urged the administration to provide a new and functional DG set to both Kadamtala and Uttara Panchayats on a priority basis.
Alongside power issues, he also emphasized that digital connectivity has emerged as another major concern, with extremely poor BSNL network coverage hampering essential services like Common Service Centres (CSCs) and disrupting the online ration distribution system, thereby severely affecting people’s access to government services.
“Further, the deteriorated state of NH-4 road has led to an increase in accidents, delays, and transport disruptions, posing safety risks to commuters and hampering regional connectivity”, stated Shri. Bhasker.
He added that the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) of both Kadamtala and Uttara have not received adequate funding for several months. This lack of financial support has stalled development work and maintenance activities at the grassroots level, directly impacting local welfare and public infrastructure projects.
Shri. Bhasker has appealed to the Administration to treat these matters with urgency and extend timely support to the affected communities. “The Congress Party stands in solidarity with the people of Kadamtala and Uttara and will continue to advocate for equitable development and improved governance in all corners of the Union Territory”, said Shri. Bhasker.
