Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 10: A verification camp was organized at Ograbraj Community Hall under the chairmanship of Smti. Priyanka Kumari, Additional District Magistrate, South Andaman, to verify the credentials of beneficiaries under various flagship Government schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY), Priority Household Scheme (PHH) and Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
During the camp, a total of 76 beneficiaries were registered and their credentials were duly verified by officials from the Departments of Rural Development, Civil Supplies and Health for further processing and inclusion under the respective welfare schemes.
At the outset, the Additional District Magistrate gave a detailed briefing on the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, elaborating on its objectives, eligibility criteria, benefits and the procedure for availing the scheme, encouraging the villagers to take advantage of this transformative initiative.
The programme witnessed the presence of the Pradhan, Mithakhari Gram Panchayat, Block Development Officer, Ferrargunj, Assistant Engineer (Electricity), Shri Choudhary, Junior Engineer, Shri Casper James, Tehsildar, Ferrargunj, along with representatives from the Rural Development, Health and Civil Supplies Departments, Revenue officials, beneficiaries and a large gathering of villagers.
The initiative aimed to ensure transparency and inclusivity in beneficiary identification and to create greater awareness among rural households regarding various welfare and development schemes of the Government.
