World Coconut Day 2025 Celebrated at Netaji Nagar, Little Andaman

Hutbay, Sept. 4: The ‘World Coconut Day-2025’ was celebrated at Panchayat Hall, Netaji Nagar Village, Little Andaman. The event was inaugurated by the chief guest, Shri S. Parmanathan, Pramukh, Panchayat Samiti, Little Andaman. Shri Andrew Mosses, First Captain, Tribal Council, Harminder Bay, Little Andaman was the guest of honor. Shri Festus Nathaniel, Secretary, Tribal Council, Harminder Bay, Shri Raja, Up-Pramukh, Panchayat Samiti, Little Andaman, Shri K. Rudhramoorthy, Pradhan, Hutbay, Shri Bidyut Roy, Pradhan, Netaji Nagar and officials from Industries, Social Welfare and Fisheries, Anganwadi Workers, and members of Self-Help Groups were present on the occasion. 

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest emphasized to adopt coconut-based farming system and appreciated the efforts of the entire team of Agriculture Department, Little Andaman for organizing the event.   The Pradhan of Hut Bay, Pradhan, Netaji Nagar, Secretary, Tribal Council   and Up-Pramukh of the Panchayat Samiti, Little Andaman also spoke on the occasion.

Earlier, Assistant Director (Agriculture) welcomed the gathering and emphasized the significance of celebrating World Coconut Day.

The event featured a variety of competitions, including cookery competition (both sweet and savory) and handicrafts, where the Anganwadi workers and Self-Help Groups showcased their exceptional talent and dedication, excelling in these competitions.
