Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 6: The Wildlife Week is observed every year from October 2 to October 8th in India. The objectives are to raising public awareness of wildlife conservation, the preservation of a variety of plants and animals, and the significance of saving species from extinction. In 1952, the custom was started. The ZSI and EIACP Centre on Island Biodiversity proposed to conduct various events as part of the Wildlife week celebrations, including online wildlife quizzes competitions, drawing contests, nature trails, bird and butterfly watching, plantation drives, wildlife awareness rallies, and one-day seminars on wildlife conservation.
In this connection, the EIACP Centre on Island Biodiversity, Zoological Survey of India, Andaman & Nicobar Regional Centre is organizing a Wildlife Awareness Rally on 7th October 2025 to raise awareness about wildlife conservation, to spread messages about wildlife and the importance of coexistence. The rally will start from Cellular Jail at 07.30 hrs and end up in ZSI, Haddo (Megapode Road).
