Port Blair, Jan 21: Surpanjali (a cultural art forum) in collaboration with Andaman Nicobar Chess Association (ANCA) will organize a chess tournament “CHATURANGA Smart Girl 2024” under the Smart Girl Project with an aim to promote, encourage and empower girls. The chess tournament will be organized exclusively for girls in different age categories (7, 9, 11, 13, 15 and 19 years)

Car Nicobar, Jan 21: On 20/01/2024, in celebration of Police Raising Week 2024, the police personnel posted at respective station under Nicobar District organized various programmes at their concerned jurisdictions. The events included cleaning activity as part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan at the campus of Police Station Teressa by the staff precipitated in cleaning and beautifying the premises and surrounding.  Yoga session also organized for staff of this PS. The event emphasized the significance mark of Police Raising Day. Apart from that in order to facilitate Screening of Movie session organized by PS PS Teressa for the staffs and their family members. After movie Bada Khana was also organized for the staff and their family members at PS Teressa.  

Rangat, Jan 21: On 19/01/2024, credible and specific information was received regarding a shop owner in Nimbutala who is expected to receive a parcel containing illicit ganja which is arriving from Kolkata. Responding promptly, a raiding team led by SDPO Rangat was constituted along with 02 independent witnesses.

Port Blair, Jan. 20: The Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, A&N Administration will be conducting a 3 days Yoga Camp for promoting mental and physical wellbeing amongst the residents of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. In this regard, the Department has invited the general public above the age of 18 years to embark on a transformative journey of yoga, designed to enhance mental and physical wellbeing. The camp will be led by Session Instructors from Education, Police and Health (AYUSH) Department of A&N Administration trained through the prestigious University of Patanjali in Haridwar, the camp shall consist of both morning and evening sessions for 3 days starting from 2nd February, 2024 to 4th February, 2024.
