
Sri Vijaya Puram, July 27: The 7th Union Territory Level Coastal Security Committee (UTLCSC) Meeting was held today at the Conference Hall of the Andaman & Nicobar Secretariat, Sri Vijaya Puram, under the Chairmanship of the Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration.
The meeting was attended by the DGP, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Commissioner‑cum‑Secretary (Home), Secretary (Home), Members, senior officers of the Administration, PMF, Andaman & Nicobar Police, Indian Coast Guard, Joint Operation Centre, ANC, District Administration and other stakeholder departments and agencies associated with coastal and maritime security.
The Committee reviewed the Action Taken Reports (ATRs) on the decisions and recommendations of the 6th UTLCSC Meeting and deliberated on agenda items covering coastal security, inter‑agency coordination, operational preparedness, infrastructure development, surveillance, communication systems, and other measures to strengthen maritime security in the Union Territory.
The Chief Secretary emphasized sustained coordination among all stakeholder agencies for effective coastal surveillance, timely information sharing, and prompt response to emerging maritime security challenges. The participating agencies reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing the coastal security framework of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands through coordinated efforts and timely implementation of the decisions taken during the meeting.
