89,061 Beneficiaries in the Islands Identified as Eligible for AB-PMJAY

Sri Vijaya Puram, April 29: The Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) was launched in the Union Territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands on 23rd September 2018, in line with its nationwide rollout. The scheme provides cashless health coverage of up to ₹5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary hospitalization at empanelled Government and private hospitals across the country, ensuring financial protection and access to quality healthcare for eligible families.

As per data shared by the National Health Authority, Government of India, a total of 23,785 families comprising 89,061 beneficiaries in the Islands have been identified as eligible under the scheme. To avail benefits under AB-PMJAY, all eligible family members are required to generate their individual Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY cards.

A considerable number of eligible PHH and AAY ration card holders in the Union Territory have not yet created their Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY cards. Such beneficiaries are urged to complete the card generation process at the earliest so that they may avail themselves of free treatment benefits under the scheme whenever required.

Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY cards can be generated easily through the Ayushman App, available on the Google Play Store. Beneficiaries may also visit their nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) or seek assistance from ASHA, ANM, or Community Health Officers (CHOs) at nearby health institutions for facilitation of card creation.

The Administration appeals to all eligible beneficiaries to generate their cards without delay and ensure that no entitled person is deprived of healthcare benefits under this flagship scheme.

For assistance or queries, beneficiaries may contact the State Health Agency, A&N Islands at 03192-214763 during office hours (9 am to 5 pm.
