Sri Vijaya Puram, April 8: On 08.04.2026, a Fishermen Watch Group meeting was conducted by PMF, PS Rangat and the Fisheries Department, with active participation from fishermen.
During the session, fishermen were sensitized on the importance of carrying valid documents such as vessel registration and ID cards for compliance and smooth verification. Emphasis was also laid on keeping essential safety equipment on-board, and Distress Alert Transmitters (DAT), to ensure safety at sea.
They were further advised to promptly report any suspicious or unauthorized activities to authorities and informed about penalties for non-compliance. The initiative aims to promote safe fishing practices and strengthen coastal security.
