Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Learning (NSCBIHL) Takes Formal Hand Over of Land for Establishment of Permanent Campus

Sri Vijaya Puram, April 16: In a landmark development for the higher education landscape of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Learning (NSCBIHL) takes formal hand over of land for the establishment of its permanent campus. The land transfer, executed on 15/04/2026, marks a historic milestone, providing the Institute with its designated place of establishment.

The land transfer agreement was formally handed over by Shri Aditya Sangotra, Director of Education, A&N Administration to Dr. (Prof.) Sanmukh Kaur, the Nodal Officer, NSCBIHL in the presence of Secretary (Education), A&N Administration and Vice Chancellor, NSCBIHL.

In his address to the Principals of various colleges, Prof. Alok Kumar Rai, Vice Chancellor, NSCBIHL, acknowledged the significance of the responsibility entrusted to the institution. He noted that the existing academic and administrative ecosystem in the Islands is highly conducive to growth and development. He placed on record his appreciation for the consistent support and cooperation extended by A & N Administration and the institutional stakeholders.

Prof. Rai further recalled his previous visit, during which consultations were held with college Principals to explore avenues for building a robust and efficient higher education system. He reiterated that the core objective behind establishing NSCBIHL is to address systemic challenges, improve quality, strengthen institutional capacities, and ultimately create meaningful opportunities for students and society.

The formal transfer of land is expected to accelerate the development of the NSCBIHL campus and pave the way for the establishment of a comprehensive higher education framework in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
